A Naked Girl on the Appian Way centers on Bess Clayburgh, a successful cookbook author, and her husband Jeffrey Thomas, a distracted genius. The couple's lives are upended when their three children Morrison, Watson and Yaegashi return from a year of European travel and reveal surprising news that stretches the family beyond their breaking point.
Morrison is currently starring in The Light in the Piazza as Fabrizio, a role that earned him a Tony nomination. He is expected to play his final performance in Piazza on August 28. Morrison also appeared on Broadway in Footloose, The Rocky Horror Show and Hairspray. He will be featured in the upcoming television adaptation of Once Upon a Mattress.
Thomas recently played Touchstone in As You Like It at Central Park's Delacorte Theatre. He is famous for playing John-Boy on the TV hit The Waltons from 1972 through 1977 and has revisited the character in subsequent reunion specials A Walton Thanksgiving, A Walton Wedding and A Walton Easter. His Broadway credits include Sunrise at Campobello, Strange Interlude, The Playroom, Everything in the Garden, Fifth of July, The Front Page, Love Letters and Democracy. He has appeared off-Broadway in The Seagull, Square One, Tiny Alice and The Stendhal Syndrome among others.
Yaegashi's off-Broadway credits include Richard III, Take Me Out and A Few Stout Individuals. His other theatrical credits include mountings of Twelfth Night, Comedy of Errors, Stories of the Children of War and Macbeth.
A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, which will also feature Leslie Ayvazian and Ann Guilbert, is set to officially open on October 6.
